When a bride imagines her dream wedding, the splendid castle is the top location on her mind. Based on our research, the monthly search results vastly surpass the next hall. The stellar views of the city from the gardens create the perfect backdrop for romantic couple photography and for group pictures and recommend the splendid castle as the perfect Toronto wedding venue.
The Conservatory boasts large glass windows and is the perfect spot to tie the knot, especially if you are planning a winter affair. The natural light creates a romantic atmosphere and gives the feeling of an outdoor event space while protecting your guests from the hot and humid summer.
Some couples prefer to have their ceremonies in the garden behind the castle and the reception inside the historic building.
The castle is a landmark that has been a part of Toronto’s landscape for nearly a century, ever since it was built as a residence for Sir Henry Pellatt, a prominent member of the city’s business community. Although Pellatt’s family spent only about 10 years in the house before selling it to the city, the castle still retains a sense of luxury and historical significance that can’t be found in many other venues. In particular, the castle has a number of unique features that make it stand out from other venues. These include two art galleries, a private theatre, a conservatory, a hall and more.
This grand house feels like a fairy-talepu castle, with its whimsical towers and turrets and lush grounds.
The castle’s architecture is the key feature that draws million tourists to the spot every year. The outdoor terrace offers stunning views of the city and it is often the main photo spot for group pictures.
Also, the opulent fountains, carefully manicured gardens provide an oasis of tranquility for the couple who can spend a few moments together during their special event.
The castle’s interior is lavish, with hand-painted ceilings, marble fireplaces and dark wood furnishings. The interior is adorned with crystal chandeliers, artworks and antique furniture, and the Conservatory is the perfect spot for an indoor ceremony and for winter engagement proposals.
The castle has several halls. The Library can accommodate 210 reception guests, the Conservatory up to 180 guests, the Glass Pavilion up to 210 people, The Terrace and Gardens up to 300 guests. Finally, if you want to rent the entire establishment, it can accommodate up to 1500 people.
According to Casa Loma, the wedding associated costs start at $20,000 during the off-peak season and can set you back more depending on your preference and budget. In addition, you can expect to pay a premium if you are planning a summer affair.
We asked professional photographers when is the best time to take photos at the castle and the unanimous response was “early in the morning before the tourist crowds appear.”
The architecture is what makes this castle such a popular spot among couples getting married. From the stonework to the turrets, the castle is a visual feast. Some of the most popular spots for photos include the balcony of the rotunda, the exterior balcony, and the gardens, but there are tons of opportunities for great pictures throughout the castle and grounds.
If you want to get married at this splendid castle, please do yourself a favour and secure your date in advance.
The castle is located at 1 Austin Terrace
Besides the free parking on the adjacent streets, you can find a paid parking lot on site.

Evergreen Brick Works has been one of Toronto’s most popular wedding venues in the past few years. Boasting a stunning garden space for outdoor ceremonies, a unique urban setting for indoor nuptials, and so much more, it’s no wonder that this event space has been the go-to destination for many couples.
The Pavilions can accommodate up to 2000 people, the CRH Gallery and Koerner Gardens up to 2500, Tim Frances and Tim Price Terrace up to 250 guests and BMO Atrium 250 people.
According to the Evergreen Brick Works, it costs a couple between $2000 and $7000 to rent one of the spaces.
The Pavilions abound in ambient light and a good wedding photographer can take amazing photos regardless of the time of the day. Still, in the mornings there are fewer visitors and the light is soft, which makes it the favourite time of the day for most photographers.
The complex is located at 550 Bayview Ave.
You can find plenty of paid parking on site.

The Great Hall, with its unique combination of vintage charm and cutting-edge design, is quickly becoming one of the hottest Toronto wedding venues.
The Great Hall is the place where modernity meets history in a sumptuous marriage, and if you decide to tie the knot here, you won’t be disappointed.
The four halls have their own features that make them stand out. For example, the Main Hall is a three stories theatre spanning over 10,000 square feet. Its majestic space is lit by crystal chandeliers and 20 ft high windows. The horseshoe balcony can host your cocktail hour and your guests will be stunned by the audio video system.
The Conversation Room and the Drawing Room are bathed in natural light, which gives them a romantic feel and make them so desirable.
The establishment boasts four halls that can accommodate between 117 and 480 guests.
The Main Hall can host 480 guests.
Conversation Room can accommodate 117 guests.
Longboat Hall has a capacity of 400 people.
The Drawing Room can host 97 guests.
The Conversation Room and the Drawing Room are adorned with massive windows and white walls that make it easy to take photos during the day. In the evening, it is also easy to bounce a flash into the room and obtain even light, so flattering to the skin tones.
The Main Hall and the Longboat Hall are more challenging as their grandeur requires your photographer to being special lighting. Our advice would be to visit the Great Hall with your photographer before your special event.
The beautiful hall is located at 1087 Queen Street West.
Please note that parking is challenging in the area and you might want to discuss parking options with the staff.
When choosing a hall for your big day, it’s important to know that you’re making a good investment. That’s why you might want to consider Kortright Centre for Conservation .
Not only are you getting a beautiful venue, but you get to support a good cause at the same time. This stunning, natural wooded site is located in Ontario, Canada, and it’s possible to host your ceremony and reception here. Because of Kortright’s remote location, it’s a great place for you to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and celebrate your union in the privacy of a serene, natural setting.
The Kortright Centre for Conservation is a stunning place located just an hour outside of downtown Toronto. It was originally built as a training centre for the Canadian National Exhibition in the early 1900’s, and its 19th-century architecture and exposed wood beams give it the look of a classic barn. Thanks to a recent renovation, the Kortright also has all the modern amenities you’ll need to plan a perfect day, including a 200-person hall, a reception tent, full catering services, and even on-site lodging for out-of-town guests.
The locale includes three rooms that accommodate between 160 and 220 guests as follows:
Glass House – 160 guests
Forest Gallery – 200 guests
Main Hall – 220 guests
The Main Hall spreads over 2,496 sq. ft.
Glass House – 1,600 sq. ft.
Forest Gallery – 2,400 sq. ft.
Because the Kortright Centre for Conservation covers such a vast area, you can take photos any time of the day, but the golden hour is by far the pros’ preferred time to shoot. The golden hour is the 1 hour interval after the sunrise and 1 hour before sunset.
Allocate one extra hour for the photo shoot as you will need to walk from one spot to the other. Also, it is not uncommon to see several bridal parties taking pictures. You want to have a spare pair of flats or a sole mate so you can walk on the grass without ruining your heels (just google it).
While the halls/rooms are not impressive the first time you see them, they look stunning once they were decorated.
According to the establishment, the starting ceremony fee is $1,300 and the average catering price per person is $165.
The conservation area is located at 9550 Pine Valley Dr, Woodbridge, ON L4L 1A6.
The location has a massive parking lot and if the area is closed for the public you will be provided a code that will unlock the front gates.
Black Creek Pioneer Village is last remaining example of a Canadian 19th-century village. It was originally built as part of the Canadian National Exhibition in 1914. Today, the site is run by the Government of Ontario, and comprises over forty historic buildings, an outdoor park, and a museum. This splendid wedding venue is an open-air museum that includes 40 historic buildings and 10 gardens.
This is a tough one. Where do we start? Everywhere you go in the complex you find picture perfect backgrounds.
The historic buildings are extremely popular for photo opportunities and it is very common to see four or more bridal parties taking photos. You can be sure your pictures will be unique and memorable.
In terms of best photo spots, Roblin’s Mill is our favourite, along with the Half-Way House.
Here are the capacities of the different spaces:
The Grand Pavilion – 180 guests
Victoria Green – 200
Victoria Room – 120

Victoria Green – 5152 sq. ft.
Victoria Room – 2200 sq. ft.
Canada West – 2400 sq. ft.
Pioneer Patio – 2100 sq. ft.
According to the Black Creek Pioneer Village, the starting cost per person is $125 for an off season affair and it includes the locale rental and an open bar. It is an amazing value, and that explains why this is one of the most popular locations to tie the knot in Toronto.
A photography permit costs $300 and includes 1 parking spot and admission to 20 people including your photographer.
The golden hour (early mornings and late afternoons) are generally the best for photos but the photography permit allows entrance between 11am and 3 pm.
Still, if you are getting married here you have the whole complex for yourself after closing.

If you are getting married at OKW, you won’t need a photography permit for your photo shoot.
If you are planning to take indoor photos, any time of the day is great as long as your photographer has good lighting skills.
OKW is located at 1 King St. W.
There is paid underground parking and street parking. Still, you might want to discuss the parking situation with your contact at OKW.
Allocate enough time going from the bridal suite to the ceremony and then to the reception. OKW is also a hotel, and you might need to wait for the elevators quite a bit.
Even when you get married there, the hotel often books more shoots and you will need to wait, so again, add a 15-30 minute buffer time.

These moments are what you’ll look back on and cherish for the rest of your lives, and it’s those moments that can make your wedding one-of-a-kind.

Location is extremely important – this is a rule of thumb that applies to anywhere in the world, whether it be your wedding or any other event. The location should suit the event and needs of your guests, and it should also match your personality and style. The food quality and quantity must also be taken into consideration when choosing a venue. When choosing a venue, it’s important to take on board the location’s atmosphere since guests will experience it during their stay at the site.
